Hi Ron

Just found your website on a random Bing search for the Crown Point B-17 crash. Me and one of my hiking buddies are big techies as well and have talked about building a website much like you have now. I have several GPS tracks and trail I can contribute right away and I'll share.

One common frustration I have is applying photos to GPS tracks Google maps/earth. The Google interface is a manual and painful approach. Typically after a good hike I will post my pictures to Picasa for my buddies. I always have a GPS track.

I realized the Google APIs allow you to script much of Googles offering. I haven't proved it but I believe you can access Picasa photos (and photo metadata) along with GPS tracks you upload to Google. I started synchronizing my camera clock to my GPS and was going to write a script to match the photo timestamp to my GPS track between Picasa.

Not sure if you're looking for these kinds of ideas but I believe this would most defintely take your site to a whole new level beyond anything else I've seen.

I have other ideas but I'll start here.
